Apple’s New “Liquid Glass” Design: Cool or Confusing?
Bringing a futuristic, semi-transparent look to your screen!
Hey friends,
Apple just dropped something very shiny in their latest software update, a Liquid glass design, and people can’t stop talking about it.
Let’s see through it (pun intended).
Actually before that, I wanted to show a picture of something I saw at Costco the other day.
The Wyze camera and light contraption! Writing and detailing it on my last post, then seeing it pop up in person feels unreal!
Anyways back to this week

Liquid Glass is a new visual style Apple added in its latest software update — in iOS 26, iPadOS 26, macOS Tahoe, and other apple products.
The name “Liquid Glass” comes from how everything on the screen now looks: semitransparent, glossy and smooth.
You’ll see this new style everywhere: buttons and sliders, app backgrounds and widgets. It’s a BIG change from the simple design Apple’s, where the text used to be on a solid background color.
I like how it blends everything together and makes your screen feel dynamic. It feels especially good on newer iPhones and Macs that can show it off with smooth graphics.
On the other hand, the new look makes text harder to read, especially when light colors sit on top of busy backgrounds. If you have trouble seeing or need high contrast, this update might be frustrating.
All in all, I think it’s a cool step forward, but Apple needs to find the right balance. Yes, it looks futuristic. But if people can’t read or use their devices easily, that’s a not practical.
Is This Preparing Us for the Future?
With the new look buzzing around on the internet, I came across a video where a girl shared her interesting opinion.
Think about this: in virtual reality (VR) or augmented reality (AR) where digital text and such appear right in front of your eyes using smart glasses , your apps won’t sit on a flat screen anymore and the every text won’t have a solid background. They’ll float in space, layered over your surroundings.
So if you’re wearing something like Meta Glasses or Apple’s Vision Pro (Apple’s new VR headset), you’ll need to get used to reading words on top of changing backgrounds. That’s exactly what Liquid Glass is!
This isn’t just a style change. It’s mental training for the next big leap in tech!
So yeah, Liquid Glass is Apple’s way of making your screen look more alive, more fluid, and more futuristic.
Whether you’re squinting at blurry menus or admiring the gloss, just know: your brain is already taking its first steps into the future.
See you next week!
Keep learning,
Suhana.
